The LA Kings have relieved Jim Hiller of his duties and named D.J. Smith interim head coach for the remainder of the season, Kings Vice President and General Manager Ken Holland announced. LAFC have re-signed Denis Bouanga to a multi-year contract extension as a Designated Player through 2028, with an option through 2029-30. The LA Galaxy have waived Forward Christian Ramirez and exercised a buyout of his contract today. He joined the Galaxy in February 2025 in a trade with the Columbus Crew. Ramirez, 34, spent one season with the Galaxy, making 33 appearances. The Los Angeles Dodgers are bringing back reliever Yency Almonte on a minor league deal, per Fabian Ardaya. The reliever battled shoulder trouble after the Dodgers sent him to the Cubs along with Michael Busch. Hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2024. Almonte, 31, spent 2022 and 2023 with the Dodgers. In 2022, he had one of his best seasons in his career posting a 1.02 ERA, 33 K in 33 games. The following year was much worse but Dodgers fixed him before. Can they do it again?

Goaltender Petr Mrazek underwent hip surgery Tuesday and will be out for the remainder of the season. Mrazek, 34, appeared in 10 games with Anaheim this season, posting a 3-5-0 record following his acquisition from Detroit on June 28, 2025. He was part of the trade that sent John Gibson to Detroit. WR Robert Woods is retiring from the NFL after 12 seasons. The Los Angeles Rams signed Woods to a one-day contract to retire as a Ram. The Los Angeles Angels have signed 2B Adam Frazier to a minor league contract, which includes an invitation to Spring Training. Frazier, 34, is a 10-year MLB veteran and was a 2021 All-Star. Frazier had some good years but was on the decline. Last season with the Royals he was solid with a .267 AVG, 7 HR, 44 RBI, .684 OPS in 419 at-bats.
