Another Angel Headed to IL

Another Angel headed to the IL, but this time not for the rest of the season... yet. Today Angels recalled RHP Andrew Wantz from Triple-A Salt Lake and placed LHP Aaron Loup (right hamstring strain) on 15-day injured list.

Injuries is never a good thing but in a way this is actually a good thing. Loup has been struggling this season allowing 9 runs in 9 innings of relief pitching. Wantz who was called up, however, is pitching exceptionally so far this season. Hopefully, Loup can heal from injury soon and who knows, maybe the discomfort on his hamstring caused his struggles. He said he’s not concerned about it being long term, but views it as a good chance to reset things for him.
