The Angels have acquired LHP Jayvien Sandridge from the New York Yankees in exchange for cash considerations.
In a corresponding 40-man roster move, RHP Osvaldo Bido was designated for assignment. Bido was just claimed a few days ago.
Sandridge, 26, made his MLB debut last season but just pitched 0.2 innings and allowed 2 runs including a HR. Very small sample size to judge but he does strikeout a lot of players. Last season in the Minors he had 54 K in 36.2 IP, a huge 33.1% strikeout rate but a 12% walk rate. Let’s see if Angels keep him and try him.
