Angels Trade For 2 Relievers

The Angels have made a Trade Deadline trade a day before the deadline! The Angels are acquiring RHP Luis Garcia and LHP Andrew Chafin from the Nationals, per source. LHP Jake Eder and another minor leaguer are heading back to Washington.

Garcia is back on the Angels for a 3rd stint, 4.10 ERA and 31 K in 37.1 IP this season.

Chafin is a veteran left-handed reliever, 2.70 ERA and 18 K in 20 IP this season.

Angels Triple-A pitcher Jake Eder (2-7, 6.11 ERA) and Class AA 1B Sam Brown (.244, 5 HRs, 40 RBI, .708 OPS) are going to Washington in the deal for Chafin and Garcia.
