Angels reinstate RHP Ryan Tepera.

Angels reinstated reliever RHP Ryan Tepera (11.25 ERA) from the injured list and optioned reliever RHP Andrew Wantz (0.79 ERA) to Triple-A Salt Lake. I'm sure many of you are wondering, why would they do this? Well, the only optionable pitchers on the roster are Austin Warren, Andrew Wantz, Reid Detmers and Griffin Canning. The rest of the bullpen can only be designated for assignment which can risk losing the player. Doesn't make sense to send down Canning and Detmers as they are starters. Warren is already injured, so the only guy to move down is Wantz. Yes, Wantz is doing better than Tepera right now but Tepera is more proven and Angels are paying him 7 million right now so it would be tough eating up that kind of money. If Tepera continues to struggle, designating him for assignment might make sense but for now he is going to stay.
