Kevin Fiala underwent successful surgery to repair fractures in his left lower leg, the Kings announced. He will miss the remainder of the NHL regular season and will be reevaluated at its conclusion. Fiala was stretchered off the ice a few days ago after injuring his leg in the Olympics against Canada. LA Kings winger, Kevin Fiala, was stretched off the ice rink in the Olympics for Switzerland vs. Canada. Fiala suffered an apparent left leg injury after a collision with Canada’s Tom Wilson in the third period. No confirmation on what type of leg injury but speculations say it’s a broken leg. The LA Kings have acquired standout forward Artemi Panarin from the NY Rangers in exchange for a conditional third-round pick and prospect Liam Greentree, per Adam Schefter. The LA Kings have announced the following roster transactions: - Defenseman Joe Hicketts has been recalled from the Ontario Reign, the Kings’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, on emergency basis. - Forward Kenny Connors has been loaned to Ontario (AHL). Hicketts, 29, has a chance to make his Kings debut and return to NHL for the first time since 2020, though he was only recalled for “on emergency basis.” He has 3 goals, 11 assists in 41 games with the Reign this season.
