Justin Dean Called Up

The Dodgers have selected the contract of OF Justin Dean and optioned OF Esteury Ruiz. In order to make room for Dean on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers designated Luken Baker for assignment.

Through 270 at-bats, Dean is hitting .274 with 6 home runs, 31 RBIs, and 25 stolen bases, pairing speed and contact with sneaky pop. His .796 OPS proves he’s producing at the plate while being a constant threat on the bases. Dean was signed to a Minor League contract last year and now is set to make his MLB debut.

Ruiz through 21 at-bats this season is batting .190 AVG with 1 home run, 2 RBIs, and 4 stolen bases. Time for a change.

Baker was clammed just 4 days ago by Dodgers and now DFA’d.
