Dodgers To Acquire Alexis Diaz

The Dodgers are acquiring reliever Alexis Diaz in a trade with the Reds, per Robert Murray. Mike Villani, a 13th round pick by the Dodgers in the 2024 draft, is going to the Reds.

Díaz was a great closer in 2022-2024. He is expected to report to Triple-A Oklahoma City as the former All-Star was sent down earlier this year and has a 4.61 ERA in 14 Triple-A appearances with Cincinnati. Diaz is only 28 and has the potential to turn it back around. He is also the brother of star closer, Edwin Diaz.
