Dodgers Re-Sign Evan Phillips

Right-handed reliever Evan Phillips and the Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement on a one-year, $6.5 million contract. Ben Rortvedt who was just claimed recently was DFA’d to make room on the 40-man.

Phillips, 31, is coming off Tommy John surgery and is expected to return around July. He spent the last 5 seasons with the Dodgers and has been a top reliever for the Dodgers over the years. Nice signing!

Phillips will also likely be eventually moved to 60-day IL which would open a spot to sign someone.
