Angels LHP José Quijada OUT for rest of season

José Quijada will need Tommy John surgery, Phil Nevin said. He’ll miss the rest of the season, but they hope he’ll return at some point next year. Quijada had 4 Saves out of 5 opportunities for the Angels this season with a 6.00 ERA. Don't let the 6.00 ERA fool you, he was having a good start to the season allowing no runs and doing a good job closing games until his last 2 appearances. From his last 2 appearances, he didn't do so good allowing 7 runs probably due to the discomfort he had on his elbow. So if it wasn't for that, who knows, he could have been one of the best Closers so far this season. So this is actually a tough loss to the Angels squad. Luckily, Carlos Estevez is doing a solid job at closing so far this season but nonetheless, tough to lose a good relief pitcher.
